mission & vision

Cancer for College provides hope and inspiration by granting need-based college scholarships and educational experiences to cancer survivors.

I made a promise that if I got through my second battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, I would do something to make the world a better place for cancer survivors.

Foundation History

  1. 1994Craig Pollard founds Cancer for College and grants first scholarship of $500
  2. 2008 - Cancer for College grants over $225K in scholarships in one year.
  3. 2013 - Cancer for College celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a star studded comedy show in San Diego hosted by Will Ferrell
  4. 2015 - Cancer for College surpasses $2 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 cancer survivors from around the country

Our founder

I Made a Promise to God...

Cancer for College has set a goal of reaching $10 Million in our scholarship endowment fund by the year 2020.  This would allow us to give a set amount of scholarships each year in perpetuity for as long as support was needed.  We are currently just over $5 Million.  This will allow us to exit the heavy fundraising mode we are in currently and allow us the opportunity to focus more readily on our scholarship recipients needs as they work toward their college degree.
