The 2017 Cancer for College scholarship application will be completed completely online.  On the APPLICATION page you will find a list of documents that will be needed to complete the online application. The new online application system will be available in November.  In the meantime, you can begin the process of gathering the information you are going to need.​


Please take special care to check grammar and spelling throughout your application.

You will be notified via email or phone call regarding your application status around July 1st.

Eligibility Requirements


  • Must be a US resident enrolled in an accredited university or community college.
    (For the purpose of the application, if you are an incoming freshman, you do not have to be already enrolled in college to apply. Please include the names of the schools you have applied to on the application. You must be enrolled at the time of award.)
  • Must be a cancer patient/cancer survivor
  • Perpetual scholarship recipients must be willing to attend regional events associated with scholarship awarded and available for selected interviews and or media coverage. Cancer for College reserves the right to use still or video images and/or statements of scholarship recipients in any promotional materials.


ADDITIONAL DETAILS


Since 1993, Cancer for College (a registered 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation) has provided hope an inspiration to cancer survivors in the form of college scholarships. Applicants are not discriminated against based on sex, race or religious belief. California applicants and applicants attending Southern California colleges will receive first consideration for perpetual scholarships. Community college applicants are eligible for the minimum scholarship level.  All remaining applicants will be eligible for other one-time awards. Awards range from $1000 - $5,000. Scholarship recipients must maintain full-time enrollment at his/her stated university. Failure to maintain full-time enrollment or transfer from a 4-year university to a community college may result in loss of scholarship funds. Scholarship recipients experiencing health-related issues that force them to leave school may request a one-time extension of their scholarship, not to exceed one school year. Recipients exceeding this time will forgo their scholarship, but may reapply when ready to return to school and will receive first consideration. Questions? Applicant must be a resident of the United States

PACIFIC NORTHWEST SCHOLARSHIP
​Open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
Applicant must be a resident of the United States
Applicant must either be from or attending school in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana

CAROLINAS SCHOLARSHIP
Open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
Applicant must be a resident of the United States
Applicant must either be from or attending school in the states of North or South Carolina

DEAR JACK SCHOLARSHIP
Open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
Applicant must be a resident of the United States
Must be a music major or related field of study with an ability to express how you plan to pursue music as a career

LEONARD FAMILY ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT SCHOLARSHIP
Open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
Applicant must be a resident of the United States
Must be a business major or related field with a desire to pursue career in food service industry and potentially own & operate a restaurant

ROSS SKELTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
Applicant must be a resident of the United States
Applicant must be an engineering major either be from or attending school in the states of North or South Carolina

SKIP WOHL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States
Applicant must be a resident of the United States
Applicant must be from and attending school in Southern California


FRANK THE TANK SCHOLARSHIP
