Introducing Our 2009 Scholarship Recipients
We have come a long way in the last 16 years since we handed out that first scholarship for $500 in 1993.
We were amazed in 2008 when we received over 350 applications for scholarship. You can imagine how surprised we were this year when we received nearly 1,000!
Due to the sheer quantity of applications, we are no longer able to provide a scholarship to every applicant as we had done in the past.
We went through an outstanding list of candidates who best fit the Cancer for College scholarship criteria and awarded nearly $200K to ongoing perpetual and new recipients. If you did not receive a scholarship this year, your application will automatically be placed into consideration for 2010. A new online application will be available at the end of July should you choose to be considered again next year.
As a two-time cancer survivor and double amputee, I understand the challenges each and every one of you has had to endure. Don't ever give up on your dreams. Please join us in congratulating our 2009 scholarship recipients!
Sincerely,

Craig Pollard
